Your range and your resolution
SynchroScan is Renishaw's patented method of acquiring wide-range spectra. These spectra are artefact-free and can be collected at the range and resolution of your choice.
Traditionally this is done by joining multiple spectra together to make a broad-range spectrum. This often results in mismatches at the joins, because of laser quenching of the sample's fluorescent background.
In contrast, SynchroScan's continuous scanning produces seamless spectra without joins.
Better material identification and differentiation
You will find identifying and comparing materials is made easier by SynchroScan because you can acquire high spectral resolution data from the whole of the Raman spectrum, not just part of it.
This is particularly important if you are analysing very similar materials (such as pharmaceutical polymorphs).
You can also apply SynchroScan to very wide range photoluminescence spectra, covering hundreds of nanometers (thousands of wavenumbers), and clearly resolve both broad and sharp PL features.
Many aspects of Renishaw's innovative technology are covered by patents.
